Hanging on by a thread

It didn't take long for me to figure out that my friend was sending me an SOS message. She was in deep trouble and she knew it.

In the middle of her crisis, she did what every trained survivor would do... she called out for help. To her, it seemed like she was in the middle of the ocean, on a sinking ship, with no life jacket available. But to those of us not in the sinking ship with her, we were nestled in on dry land, safe and sound, away from any harm and danger.

Sounds like pages right out of a novel, but truth be told, we all have been in the sinking boat before. Tired, frustrated, no where to turn, barely hanging on. When we get to this point, we cry out for help, we send up SOS messages but unfortunately those on the shore are so busy with their own problems, they totally miss the smoke signals.

No matter where you find yourself today ... out at sea or safely on the shore, God is always aware of your surroundings. He knows exactly what kind of turmoil you are facing. You may feel alone and shipwrecked, but God is the One Who comes and rescues us from the rough waters. He is never too far down the shore to hear your SOS call.

MARK 4:39 "Then He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, 'Peace, be still!' and the wind ceased and there was a great calm."

When you feel like you are barely hanging by a thread, and your storm is about to capsize you ... Call out to God, He is the One Who will calm your storm.
