WORD POWER..."Elpizo"

I have heard it said that there is power in the words that we use. Not only "which" words we use, but "how" we use them and "knowing the right time" to use certain words. Timing can be everything. I am doing a study about words. I hope to share with you some words to ponder on...so we can all strive to have power in the words that we speak!

This week's word....
ELPIZO (el-pid'-zo)
(verb)

1. TO HOPE IN A RELIGIOUS SENSE
~ to wait for salvation with joy and full confidence.

2. HOPEFULLY
~ to trust in.

HOPE defined is...
1. to wish for something with expectation of fulfillment
2. to have confidence; trust
3. one that is a source of or reason for hope

"For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers." 1 TIMOTHY 4:10

There is one source of hope or (Elpizo) that will give us complete confidence and that is the hope that we find in Jesus Christ.

When all others leave us feeling hope-LESS, (the doctors; the attorney; the bank; the IRS) - the confidence we are looking for rests solely in the reassurance that Jesus Christ has already paid the penalty, the debt has been paid, our mistakes are thrown into the sea...

He has given us "ELPIZO" (or hope) -
the answer is on the way!

NOW THAT'S A WORD PACKED WITH HOPE!
