With the upcoming Presidential election fast approaching, I have been mulling over the recent debates. Whom is the best candidate to receive my vote?
Is voting enough or does my christian responsibility go further than the voting booth?
Paul addresses this very question in 1 Timothy...
"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, Who desires all men to be saved to come to the knowledge of the Truth." (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
In short, Paul commands us to pray instead of griping about our nation and our political leaders. Praying even for those that we do not like. We shouldn't ever complain if we don't cast our vote and we shouldn't ever voice our opinion unless we have prayed first.
Before we can get alone in the voting booth, make sure we have gotten alone in our prayer closet first. Voting without prayer is like sunbathing without lotion...we will get burned every time.
Exercise your American right...vote! Demonstrate your christian responsibility...pray!
See ya at the polls!

Pray and then vote, placing the outcome in God's hands! Blessings Laurie!
AMEN! There has been so much hate, meanness, bad mouthing and foulness in this election, it just makes my stomach turn. I will be so happy when it is over and I love this scripture and your exhortation to pray... Bless you!
