TODAY'S DEVOTION...
I just love the story of Esther. Even though God is never mentioned, the life of Esther is clearly in the hands of God. His favor took a young, Jewish girl to not just enter a beauty contest, but win first prize!
The ultimate prize was to become queen!
Esther was the queen who saved a nation. She had hurdles to climb (like the evil plotting of Haman), but she used her influence with the king to save the people.
Going to the king on behalf of her people was a brave move for Esther. It could have easily backfired but God had placed her at the right place, at the right time, for a very specific reason.
(Esther 4:14b) "who knows whether you have been placed here for such a time as this?"
Like Esther, perhaps God has placed you where you are for a very specific reason. Perhaps, you are the only Christian in your family or at the workplace. Perhaps you have considered quitting a relationship or a job or giving up your work at your church. It's easy to miss out on the impact that is actually taking place when we lose our focus.
I'm praying today for someone to stand up for such a time as this and be a "Esther" in their world. Who knows why you are where you are and who God wants you to influence for His Glory.
We may not recognize God's Hand in our life but trust me, He is working things out; right on time!
Have a blessed (and right on time) day! LAURIE
