THANKFUL THURSDAY...thirst quencher

ARE YOU THIRSTY?
We are in the heat of the summer, which means one thing - THIRST! It doesn't take too long here in the south, to be outdoors and get parched.

Have you ever been so parched that your lips, mouth and tongue were dry? It is an awful feeling! To be so thirsty and have nothing cold to drink. (Just the thought of it makes me thirsty!)

When I am really, really thirsty, there are only
3 things that will quench me:
1. a tall glass of ice cold lemonade

2. a chilled glass of sierra mist

3. a bottom-less glass of ice cold water

ahhhhhhhhhh....
how
refreshing
it is!

Today on THANKFUL THURSDAY, I would like to share my grateful heart for the things that quench my thirst, not just physically but spiritually!

Just as my physical is refreshed with the fountain, so is my spirit:

ISAIAH 12:2-3
" I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord is my strength and song; He is my salvation. Oh, the joy of drinking deeply from the Fountain of Salvation."

Where do you go when your spirit is dry and parched?

I GO TO THE FOUNTAIN,
WHERE THE
RIVER NEVER RUNS DRY!

Today I am giving thanks for the refreshment that sweeps over my spirit when I basque in His presence. His love and peace sweeps over me and I am satisified.

"Dear Lord; THANK YOU for providing me with Your Word and Your promises! I ask that you give me such a longing, such a thirst to have more of you! May I feel refreshed by
spending time with You."

Please join me over at STING MY HEART as we all share our grateful hearts!

God has shown his faithfulness to me with answered prayers of late. Oh what a feeling! Your thankfulness for His word is also a blessing.

Amen to that, Laurie. His living Water is the best when spiritually parched...and yes, I know what it means to be thirsty - physically and thirsty. I usually drink water throughout the day - keeps my head clear :)

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us.

Be blessed today and always...

"There is a fountain, that never shall run dry." That's the song I thought of when I read your TT post!

Laurie,

Great post! We have to quench our thirst spiritually just as we do physically.

Happy TT!

Thanks Laurie...may Our Thirst be
refreshed daily in His Living Water! Excellent post of summer thirst and spiritual thirst! May the fire of His spirit not be quenched but may His river flow freely through us to others! May that Fountain burst forth daily with a thirst for MORE of Him!
Bless you for that "lemonade"!
Let us enjoy that glorious presence of His Spirit falling fresh upon us today and each day until HE comes in Full Glory!

Having our spiritual "thirst" quenched is just as important as quenching our physical thirst. I praise God for giving us "The Living Water".

Big tall glass of sweet ice tea sounds wonderful to me when I am thristy. I love how you used spiritual and physical thirst together. I pray for God to give me the desire to be in HIS word each day. Only HE can quench our thirst. Thanks for this reminder and encouragement.

Blessings,
Darlene

How nice that you've compared our physical thirst to that of the Living Water for our spiritual man. An excellent comparison.

I enjoyed my visit.

WOW! Your picture was refreshing, but your words, well they made me thirsty for God's word. They made me grateful for the hunger that I experience for God's word. They made me never want to have a dry season with the Lord. I love the unique ways I've seen people do their TT, instead of like me in just doing a list. Thanks for sharing this.
