As Christians, we have no excuse for not knowing what love is. First Corinthians chapter 13 tells us in no
uncertain terms what love is and what it is not.
If the "love chapter", (as many call the 13th chapter of First Corinthians), was the job qualifications for Christ followers, what would others see?
Well, the world would know we are Disciples of Christ by our patience. They would recognize that we are Christians by our contentment, our modesty and our humility. They could spot us in a crowd because we aren't rude and we seek the best for all people. We don't get angry easily and we refuse to keep score of those who do us wrong. Our hope and perseverance would be noticed by all.
These are all attributes that should mark us as Disciples of Christ. God isn't looking for "perfect" Followers, after-all most of the first twelve had some serious issues.
However, God is looking for some people who will be obedient and who will be willing to give their all for Him.
(Luke 14:33) "In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be My disciples."
Today, God is taking applications to fill some Disciple roles; how well would you qualify?
BLESSINGS. Laurie
