Rest on this Labor Day

On this Labor Day, I trust that you have found time to rest, relax and not worry about the stress of your labors.

LABOR DAY is so much more than just a 3-day weekend. It is a time, that those of us that labor, can sit back and reflect the goodness of being able to work. So many Americans are out of work these days, if you have a job to go to every day...you are blessed!

Celebrating Labor Day is also a time to remember that God wants us to rest from time to time. Some of us don't know how to rest and relax. We are wound up so tight, taking a day off to go fishing would be like moving a mountain. Moving mountains is not really in our realm of job responsibilities, it's Gods. He reminds me in the book of Matthew that it is alright to rest, rest in Him, as He will carry our burdens if we would just let Him!

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I am really tempted, on this Labor Day, to dive deep into yokes, burdens, and labor - but I am just going to sit back and give thanks to God that He cares enough about me that He wants me to rest.

Have you found rest today?

Good Morning Laurie....this was a good post and well said as usual. It is hard sometimes isn't to just rest...just not the world we live in. But I have thought that many times when I have found it hard...even the Lord rested on the 7th day. Have a wonderful day...HUGS, Debbie
