The growing suppression of religious freedom is being witnessed more and more each day.
Ministers and Missionaries are being harassed and dictated as to what can/cannot be said from a pulpit, prayer is being removed from schools, christians are being banned to speak out about their faith.
Think that is unbelievable?
A student at Sonoma State University was ordered to remove a cross necklace because they were told by school administration that "it might offend someone."
People have been trying to silence Christians for 2000 years, however, isn't evangelism the very core of Christianity?
The very nature of the message that Jesus brought was the "Good News". Matthew even wrote what Jesus wanted us to do with the Good News...
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations….”
People can try to put faith under wraps and close the mouths of the Believer but everyone knows that Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. They may not believe in their own heart but it cannot be denied.
Even Pilate couldn't deny it as we see in today's Scripture reading...
(John 19:20-22) "Many of the Jews read this inscription, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek. So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but rather, ‘This man said, I am King of the Jews.’” Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written.”
Even during the humiliating death of Jesus, it was recognized by those responsible that Jesus WAS indeed the King of the Jews.
The Gospel cannot be silenced, not even by an angry mob who killed the very Son of God.
It is not a time for us to be silent about our faith! We must open our mouths and stand upon the Word of God and let our voice be heard.
How about it ~ How many have heard you stand up for what you believe?
BLESSINGS. Laurie
