A PIECE OF MY HEART ...what can wash away my stain?

I just love those products that can erase a stain off of your clothes. Shout it out! Now they even have these purse sized stain removers, so when you spill on yourself at the restaurant, all you have to do is roll this stuff over your stain and KAZAM! the spot is gone!

Getting your clothes clean is as easy as using spot removers or pouring bleach into your washing machine water. But how easy is it to clean up your conscience? How do you wash away regret and shame? Is it easy to remove the stains of inappropriate thoughts, bad attitudes, jealousy or fear?

The Bible says that "The blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin." (1 John 1:7) Isn't it strange...that if we were to spill blood on our clothing, we would instantly reach for that stain remover I talked about. When we think of blood, we think of it as something that causes stains rather than what is used to wash stains.

But the blood of Jesus is the only thing that can clean a guilty conscience. When the blood of Christ covers our hearts, it washes away our sin and makes us completely clean before God. His forgiveness is the only spot remover we need...it is exactly what we need to become clean and white as snow.
