DISAPPOINTMENT
Have you ever been disappointed with someone or disappointed with how something turned out? What a feeling of gloom, despair and agony that can come over us when this happens. We all hate to be disappointed in life...face it, disappointed we ALL will be, from time to time. This past week, my family endured a huge disappointment. A dark cloud seemed to almost come over our house because of this disappointment. We just about had a Hee-Haw moment (gloom, despair and agony on me ...woe-o!)
Then I realized that God can use even our disappointment to show us what a powerful, almighty God He is. Being disappointed lasts only a moment, but God's leading, guiding and understanding lasts for as long as we welcome it.
PSALM 32:8 "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you."Is it possible that disappointment is only a pathway to God opening a door of new opportunity? Possibly even a way of escape for us?
Simply said, God has a plan for our life. He understands the plan as thoroughly and completely as He knows us. Nothing surprises Him. While we are acting all "woe is me" ... He is saying "wait on Me!"
God has a wonderful plan for our lives. The best time to start looking for His plan is ... NOW! and begin living it - NOW. Even when we feel let down, misled, and disappointed - God will show up and lead us through the wilderness into the Promised Land.
"With God, it's never "plan B" or "second best". It's always "plan A". And, if we let Him, He'll make something beautiful of our lives." -GLORIA GAITHER
HAVE YOU BEEN DISAPPOINTED? aren't you thankful for it - God is about to show up and change your situation! HAPPY THANKFUL THURSDAY!

ReplyDeleteYes, I'm so thankful for God's "wait on me" because it is so much better than any plan A I could ever have come up with!
Great TT post, my friend. Blessings to you!
What a beautiful post and so true. I certainly understand what you mean and have been there more than I care to remember. But, so right... there is so much to learn from the biggest trials before us.

How true, Laurie. The very things I have been disappointed over have all been ultimately used to display God's glory and plans for my life. My plans are nothing compared to God's! Happy Thankful Thursday!

ReplyDelete"While we are acting all "woe is me" ... He is saying "wait on Me!"
ReplyDeleteI love this saying, Laurie! We have all experienced big disappointments in our lives and I hate the way that it makes us feel when we are in the midst of it...but, I love the outcome when we trust God with all our hearts and allow Him to lead and guide us. The end result has been worth the disappoints when I have trusted Him.
I am sorry that your family has suffered disappointment this week but know that I love and appreciate you guys so very, very much and all that you do for everyone...great is your reward, my friend!
Love you bunches!
You did a beautiful job on this post! I especially loved when you said, "Is it possible that disappointment is only a pathway to God opening a door of new opportunity."
ReplyDeleteSo true, and thought-provoking!
This is so good, and well put, I can certainly relate to the "woe is me," and seeing God come through after saying "Wait I have a better plan." Thank you for sharing.
