THANKFUL THURSDAY...the best gift ever!

Each year, you open the gift from Aunt Mae from Toledo and you have to ask yourself, "what is this?" and "what do you do with it?" We have all gotten those strange, peculiar gifts that we just don't know what to do with.

WHAT IS THE WORST GIFT YOU HAVE RECEIVED?

If you are running out of idea's for that perfect gift ... and looking for something that will "Wow" your family and friends, here are some suggestions of actual gifts people have received....

~ a half pack of tube socks
~ a copy of the yellow pages book
~ a 10 pound sack of rice
~ a 9 volt battery

(YES, these are actual gifts received. They were actually wrapped, and placed under someones tree!)

CHRISTMAS IS A TIME TO GIVE YOUR VERY BEST!

Your best does not have to be expensive, but certainly your best could be more than a 1/2 of a package of socks! ( a complete package would be nice!)

Today, on THANKFUL THURSDAY, I am so thankful that such a long time ago, the very best gift was given to me. I did not deserve it, but yet it was so sacrificially given. Wrapped in love and grace...God's gift to me was His forgiveness and His grace.

EPHESIANS 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Now THAT is the best gift ever! No matter how you wrap it - it never disappoints and it will "Wow" you all the way to eternity!

You are right that the best gift if all can not be seen or touched. as with the movie I spoke of. in my tt post. It was god that woke me using this movie to inspire a desire to live on. And gave me new a passion for life that I have never felt before.

  13. Oh yes, the very best gift received is Jesus! I am so grateful God gave His only Son for us! Great post! Worst gift I've ever received...nothing. Now, I know we shouldn't expect things from people; however, one year over at the ILs, the kids were all excited because they didn't see any gifts under the tree and they figured she had them in their boxes, ready to draw. Over lunch they announced they were not doing presents that year. The kids were heartbroken! My gift was always the delight in hearing the kids draw their numbers and rifling through their boxes for the corresponding gift, seeing the excitement in their eyes, so I missed my gift that year! However, on the list you gave, I would not turn down at 10 lb. bag of rice, LOL! I store that baby and use it forever! LOL! Have a happy Thankful Thursday and a Merry Christmas!

  14. How true it is - no matter what we receive (my strangest gift was a silk pantsuit from my grandmother. Champagne & copper color. Silk. Pantsuit. ummm... racy... It was the 70's. I was 10...) we are so blessed by the ultimate gift to which nothing can compare! Have a blessed Christmas.

  16. Amen! There are many things to be thankful everyday and we must take a short time to give thanks every time we have a spare time for it. I am now learning to give thanks for every simple little things because I know that He is good all the time.

    Happy Thankful Thursday!
