WORD POWER....dunamis

I have heard it said that there is POWER in the words that we use. Not only "which" words we use, but "how" we use them and "knowing the right time" to use certain words. Timing can be everything.

I am doing a study about words. I hope to share with you some words to ponder on...so we can all strive to have power in the words that we speak!

DUNAMIS (doo'-nam-is)
n. -strength, power, ability
  • A. power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth power for performing miracles
  • B. moral power and excellence of soul
  • C. the power and influence which belong to riches and wealth
  • D. power and resources arising from numbers
  • E. power consisting in or resting upon armies, forces, hosts
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the POWER of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down." -REVELATION 12:10

WHAT KIND OF POWER HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED?
Power of position? Power of the law? Power of the people?

The power of Christ is the most awesome, unbreakable POWER that you will ever encounter! Look at the final word...

HIS POWER, HIS DUNAMIS (power) WILL OVERCOME OUR ACCUSER!

Now that's a WORD packed with POWER!

  1. Good morning,

This is what I needed to read this morning.

I am looking foreward to more post
on your study of WORD POWER!

The power of the spoken word can remove mountains, calm a hurting child.

I once had a catch in my hip, and every time I would need to go up stairs, my hip would catch. I started putting my hand on my hip and declairing I am healed in the name of Jesus. One day I was at a ladies Bible study. The speaker stopped in the middle of her teaching and said, "someone here has had a catch in her hip, she put her hand on her hip exactly where I had the catch. She continue and said God is healing you now."

I have never had that catch again. Now I have had other problams with my back but never in that place.

Oh how I love his Word (Jesus)
