THANKFUL THURSDAY...more than conquerors

HAVE YOU EVER FELT SAD BUT NOT SURE WHY?

Today, even though I am surrounded by my family - I have felt a heavy heart. I cannot explain it but my heart for some reason seemed sad. Nothing in particular, just a sadness.

I shouldn't be sad at all. In fact I am happy.

>I am having the time of my life on vacation with my family.

>I am ecstatic that last weekend my son, Jeremy proposed to Rachel and they plan to be married in a week.

>I am thankful for the opportunity my son is having to go overseas and serve our country in korea in just two weeks.

>I am so blessed that my oldest son David is doing extremely well in Baltimore where he just landed a teacher assistant job.

So many great and wonderful things going on in my family.
I AM HAPPY. But yet I felt sad today.

HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED THIS?

I read tonight in Romans...
chapter 8, verse 37
"Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."

This week on this THANKFUL THURSDAY I am reminded that no matter what THINGS come our way that God has created us to be conquerors! That does not mean just some things, but ALL things!

I AM THANKFUL that thru God I am able to conquer...
sadness
anxiety
pressure
stress
broken promises
mistrust
false hope

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO CONQUER TODAY?
Trust God in ALL things because He loves you!

  1. Hi Laurie, I feel that way too at times eventhough there is no apparent reason for it. I'd like to think of it as one of my female hormones getting cranky though LOL. Thankfully we are able to lift it up to God and have our hearts lighten again.

    Happy TT!

  2. Laurie I too am grateful we are more than conquerors in Christ Jeuss. Yes there are days when the enemy tries to steal our Joy even though things are going very well. He is trickery but God is always greater reminding of who we are in Him. be bless today my sister. God loves you

  5. Laurie, I have definitely felt that way before. I think it's more common than we realize. Praise God that our true joy and contentment comes not based on feelings that come and go but an ever-present love in our Savior. Yes, we are more than conquerors through Him!

I loved reading your list and seeing how thankful your heart is, even in the midst of these feelings. God bless you my friend. Praying for the sadness to lift.

  8. I often feel sad for no reason, but I am going to get through it. I have a "David" also. Two, in fact! I'm married to one and mother to one (though they are not related by blood).

  12. Sorry you are feeling sad... sometimes we just have a blue day. Maybe even though everything in your family is going well, there is someone else you are feeling a burden for. Praying God will reveal to you the reason for your sadness.

  13. I definitely relate...thank you.

Right now I have been dealing with sadness/fear, but I know why. This is worse in away because I feel justified to have this feeling since I know why...but I also know God doesn't want me living in fear because it's not of Him.

    Thanks for your continued prayers...

Love and appreciate you, and thank you for reminding us that we CAN conquer through Him!
