THANKFUL THURSDAY...change of season

We are in the middle of my favorite season here in the south. Not too hot! (90's isn't too hot for you, is it?) I love the warm sun, the smell of flowers blooming, the sound of grass being mowed and the chirping of the birds early in the morning. A WONDERFUL SEASON.

I could say the same sentiment about every season, because there are some great experiences in each season as the weather changes. Today, I join IRIS and other thankful hearts over at THANKFUL THURSDAY as I express my thanks for the changing seasons....

SUMMER: THANK YOU for the early morning coolness; for the afternoon bbq's; for the all day swimming fun; for the fresh garden vegetables; for watermelon to eat; for baseball games to attend; for ice cold lemon-aid; for home-made ice cream; for vacation time at the beach.

FALL: THANK YOU for the beautiful art of colors changing; for the cooler weather; for the sound of leaves being raked up; for volleyball games; for camping trips; for Harvest Time; for Pumpkin Pie and Turkey; for Family time during the Holidays.

WINTER: THANK YOU for the beauty of freshly fallen snow (even if it is alittle bit here in the south); for ice skating, for snowball fights; for Holiday shopping; for eggnog; for Christmas baking; for the smell of pine; for the giving spirit.

SPRING: THANK YOU for new blossoms on the tree; for tulips blooming; for long walks; for bike riding; for fishing trips; for no more snow to shovel; for the sunshine; for the celebration of life.

ECCLESIASTES 3:1
"TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON,
A TIME FOR EVERY PURPOSE UNDER HEAVEN"

With each season, there is a blessing and so much to be thankful for. The same is true in the season of life. With each season we experience - whether it be marriage, having children, empty nest, becoming single (whether thru divorce or death), old age and retirement ...there is growth in change.

I AM GOING THRU A SEASON CHANGE RIGHT NOW...
ARE YOU?

IT IS MY PRAYER THAT GOD WILL HELP ME TO EMBRACE MY CHANGE OF SEASON WITH JOY, HOPE AND THANKFULNESS

With a THANKFUL heart...

Blessings, Laurie

Hi Laurie,

I thrill at the changing of the seasons. In God's brilliance, He gave us the gift of changing seasons, in nature and in our lives.

Great post. Happy TT.

Love this! I actually heard a song on the radio the other day that talked about just this. I was bummed because it was the first time I heard it and they didn't give the title or the name at the end.

God makes everything beautiful!

God bless your thankful heart. God is truly a God of all seasons. He makes all things so beautiful. I was thinking about this in prayer last night. Great minds think alike and all that, LOL.

Fabulous list of thanks. I live in the south and sometimes 90's can be hot. LOL I am 70's and 80's kinda girl. We went from 70's to 90's overnight it seemed. At least we have a breeze that comes ever so often to cool us off.

Happy TT!

This is a wonderful post. Season changes bring so much with them, but always if you look, you find something invaluable to take with you into the next place.

This was really GREAT! I love the way you shared about each season.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Laurie...I LOVE the Change of 4 Seasons & find myself missing the fall and even a bit of the MN winter...but the seasons of my life,Ouch...sometimes a little more difficult to embrace but after the change and growth is seen, I bless and thank the Lord for seeing me through it...Ecc.3 shows us clearly that we must pass through these changes with HIS Grace...and WOMEN TAKING A STAND on God's faithfulness and everlasting love, shows me that
you have deepened your journey and walk thru these seasons in HIS Glory hand in hand...taking your stand...how aMazing to chooseto be thankful for Change of Season. May your prayer be answered & granted in Jesus' Name...be blessed. Peggy

Good thoughts but I also wanted to comment that I just LOVE your quote that you posted for today...about being saved to be a servant...not a sensation........

Wow....

Good stuff.

Thank you for praying for me and encouraging me. We are in our new home and it's really nice. I am glad we made the move, though it definitely was A LOT of work...and still is!

We are still experiencing cold weather and no sunshine. It's been over a week since I've really seen the sun and it weighs heavy on me. Praise the Lord for warm weather! I can't wait to experience the true summer season when I get to Texas in a few weeks. Right now it feels like winter here. Hope you are well. I hope to be back online more next week.
Take care!
