THANKFUL THURSDAY....
I first heard of this thing in bloggy world called "THANKFUL THURSDAYS" over at STING MY HEART. The first time I saw this feature, I thought what a grand idea...to be thankful on a day other than Thanksgiving day!!
1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-19 " Rejoice always, (17) pray without ceasing, (18)in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (19) Do not quench the Spirit."
So how do I quench the Spirit?
- complaining
- whining
- spirit of negativity
Be thankful for everything?
- for sickness?
- for a dead-end job?
- for troubles and tribulations?
- THANK YOU Lord for loving me beyond measure!
- THANK YOU Lord for changing my heart and my life!
- THANK YOU Lord for giving me a God fearing, God loving husband.
- THANK YOU Lord that after 27 years, hubby still chases me!
- THANK YOU Lord for the most beautiful children, who all live for you!
- THANK YOU Lord that I am not in the hospital, sick with diseases!
- THANK YOU Lord for your Holy Spirit that guides me every day!
- THANK YOU Lord that I had plenty to eat today!
- THANK YOU Lord for Your peace that passes all understanding!
- THANK YOU Lord for choosing me before I even knew you!
What are you thankful for today?
God loves you and desires to hear from you today!!
and that's a piece of my heart today!
I really like your thankful post, bless you.
ReplyDeleteGratitude can really change a persons perspective. I am participating in a study going on right now about gratitude and the effects it can have on your attitude. Everytime you feel a stressor of some sort( family, job, neighbor)whatever it may be- you are supposed to verbally express thankfulness for something in your life. Then you are to make a tally mark to see how you did for the day(that is probably more for the study) but it may help you if you can visualize how many times you expressed your gratitude throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteI am noticing a quick chande in my attitude-though my kids think I'm a little crazy at times with thankfulness duing a stressing moment-but that's okay!! :)
We may be in the middle of trying to get my son to brush his teeth , or something like that, and I'll say- I am so thankful we have eyes to see! He rolls his eyes at me and then finally does what he was told to do!
I pray that this continues in a positive direction because I needed something to help change my attitude!
A lovely, thankful post! I'm with you all the way!

Denise,
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my page. Giving thanks to God is one of the easiest things to do but yet sometimes we make it so hard. Hope to see you back as I share a piece of my heart another day.

Cheri,
ReplyDeleteGiving praise to God is so simple, but yet hard for us to do. When we make our minds up to JUST DO IT, it is amazing the places we express our thanks, even brushing our teeth!!
love Laurie
